The Dungeon: Level 5
over 3 years ago – Sun, Oct 04, 2020 at 11:13:29 PM

Hello Heroes,

we thought that the battle for Level 4 would be much closer, but! Just a handful of votes separated the two faction, but in the end, we had a clear winner very early on: with 66% of the votes, you chose the undead explorer! The Catacombs of Gloomy Ghosts box will now include the additional "Indiana Bones" Monster card, which will have you throw the Compass template at the beginning of the fight (and possibly, give you a greater choice of cards for your next Dungeon room).

Not all is lost for the penguin lovers among you, though! As usual, you have a second chance to unlock "The Iceberg Mob" Monster card for the Castle of Frightening Frosts box. You'll just have to help us reach 6200 followers on our Instagram profile and unlock our newest social stretch goal!

Click on this image and help us reach 6200 followers on Instagram!

You also already allowed us to reach 200 reshares on our facebook post, unlocking the additional "Glam Knee Pad" Item card for the Labyrinth of Sinister Storms box, but it seems that there's much less of you using Twitter compared to Facebook, as we're still quite far from our other social stretch goal of 250 retweets on this Twitter post that will allow us to unlock the “Floor Is Lava” Dungeon card and the Lava Pad for the Chambers of Malevolent Magma box... but we are sure that with your help we will make it, eventually! 😊

All in all, I have to say that for being a cursed undead explorer, that Indiana Bones was pretty friendly. Don't judge a book by its cover, I guess, uh? He only got nervous when Murka showed up with her snake pet. Now let me check the map just a sec... ok, at least there won't be any ice room this time, but we'll have to choose among two pretty challenging paths. If we go left, we'll find a room with a pretty nasty magic wall of fire right in the middle. If we go right, instead, we'll have to go through a scary tangled forest. I hope you brought your machetes with you...

Here's your choice for Level 5 of The Dungeon! If you will go left, you will unlock the “Firewall Room” Dungeon card and an upgraded plastic Firewall Throw gadget (replacing the cardboard piece) for the Chambers of Malevolent Magma box. If you go will go right, instead, you will unlock the “Tangled Forest” Dungeon card and an upgraded plastic Gate Throw gadget (also replacing the respective cardboard piece) for the Labyrinth of Sinister Storms box. Both these Dungeon cards will force you to perform a specific throwing challenge[*] for the whole duration of the fight, adding an extra challenge to the fight (but also a greater reward at the end).

The upgraded Firewall Throw gadget (left) and the upgraded Gate Throw gadget (right).

[*] With the Firewall Throw, you must throw the die, make it bounce on the table and then over the Firewall gadget. If the die touches the Firewall gadget, no matter if you hit or not, you also take some damage (fire is hot, you know). With the Gate Throw, instead, you have to throw the die, make it bounce on the table, and make it go through the gate without toppling it.

The Dungeon: Level 4
over 3 years ago – Sat, Oct 03, 2020 at 12:27:11 AM

Hello Heroes,

you expressed more than 350 votes once again for Level 3, and the battle was fierce! Just a handful of votes separated the two faction, but in the end, with 52% of the votes, it was the shield to prevail! The Catacombs of Gloomy Ghosts box will now include the additional "Bone Shield" Item card, allowing you to perform the Bone Throw to prevent some damage in case you miss the target.

But fear not, knee-throwing enthusiasts! As usual, you have a second chance to unlock the "Glam Knee Pads" Item card for the Labyrinth of Sinister Storms box. You'll just have to help us reach 200 reshares on this Facebook post and unlock our newest social stretch goal!

Click on this image to go straight to the Facebook post and share it with your friends!

We're also half-way through our other social stretch goal of 250 retweets on this Twitter post that will allow us to unlock the “Floor Is Lava” Dungeon card and the Lava Pad for the Chambers of Malevolent Magma box... and help us to further spread the word about our campaign, of course! 😊

Whoa, there's surely a lot of bones here... kinda scary, isn't it? At least this bone shield may be useful... and according to the map, it seems that we're going to fight no matter what, so we'll probably discover soon. If we go left, we will find the tomb of some famous explorer, and with the luck we've been having, we will trigger a curse or something and wake up the undead. If we go right, instead, we will go back to an icy room (ugh)... and the map also says "beware of the... penguins"?!

Here's your choice for Level 4 of The Dungeon! If you will go left, you will unlock the “Indiana Bones” Monster card for the Catacombs of Gloomy Ghosts box. If you go will go right, instead, you will unlock “The Iceberg Mob” Monster card for the Castle of Frightening Frosts box. Both these cards will have you throw a template[*] on the target at the beginning of the fight, adding new gameplay mechanics for the whole round.

The Compass template (left) and the Frozen template (right). Artworks not final.

[*] If you hit the Compass template, you will only deal little damage to the monster you are currently fighting, but you will be able to choose among 3 Dungeon cards at the beginning of the next round, instead of just 2! The Frozen template, instead, adds an additional hazard to the board: if your dice lands in the hole inside the template, your hero will be Frozen and you will have to Level Down one of your abilities!

The Dungeon: Level 3
over 3 years ago – Fri, Oct 02, 2020 at 10:26:49 PM

Hello Heroes,

Level 2 of The Dungeon received even more votes than the first: more than 350 votes. Thanks for your enthusiasm! The battle was a bit closer this time, but the ice path defeated the lava path with about 63% of the votes. This means that the Castle of Frightening Frosts box will now include the additional "Cracked Ice" Dungeon card and the Ice Pad! But that's not all! The Castle of Frightening Frosts is also getting the "Snow Man" Monster card and the Snow die, because you also already allowed us to reach 200 reshares on our Facebook post! That was fast!

Once again, the supporters of the lava path will have a second chance to unlock the “Floor Is Lava” Dungeon card and the Lava Pad (similar to the Ice Pad, but with a soft neoprene surface) for the Chambers of Malevolent Magma box. You'll just have to help us reach 250 retweets on this Twitter post!

I personally hate cold and would have rather chosen to face lava, but... I guess we're in a democracy, right? Thanks for dragging me into this frosty hell, folks. Ok, let me see what's next and let's get out of here as fast as... uh, neat! The map says we have two treasure rooms in front of us! Not a lot of details here, other than some bones to the left, and some spikes to the right. Mmm... where shall we go, heroes?

Here's your choice for Level 3 of The Dungeon! If you will go left, you will unlock the “Bone Shield” Item card for the Catacombs of Gloomy Ghosts box. If you go will go right, instead, you will unlock the “Glam Knee Pads” Item card for the Labyrinth of Sinister Storms box. Both these cards are special pieces of Armor that allow you to perform one of Dungeon Fighter's signature throwing challenges[*] when you attack. If you do and hit, nothing special happens, but if you miss the target, they protect you from the monster's counterstrike by preventing a certain amount of damage.

[*] The Bone Throw requires you to throw the die and make it bounce on one of the bones of the target, instead of the table, whereas the Knee Throw requires you to throw the dice from your knee (you can then flick it from there with your finger, or suddenly lower your leg to make it fall on the table and hopefully roll towards the target... you can find your way, as long as your knee is involved with the way your throw the die).

The Dungeon: Level 2
over 3 years ago – Thu, Oct 01, 2020 at 01:28:09 AM

Hello Heroes,

with around 300 votes received, it seems that the first level of The Dungeon was a resounding success! The Snow Man had its fair share of supporters, but Mr. Hypnosis won with about 68% of the votes! The Catacombs of Gloomy Ghosts box will now include the additional "Mr. Hypnosis" Monster card and the Pendulum die!

But if you were a Snow Man supporter, fear not! You have another chance to unlock the "Snow Man" Monster card and the Snow die for the Castle of Frightening Frosts box as a "social stretch goal"! You will simply have to help us reach 200 reshares on this Facebook post!

Ok, time for the next chapter of The Dungeon! Are you ready for Level 2? Well, well, the mesmerizing skills of that Mr. Hypnosis were pretty scary, uh? But we managed to defeat him, somehow... good job, team! Now please help me to convince Torm that he is not a duck, so that we can move to the next level of this dungeon.

[an hour later]

Ok, that was maybe more difficult than the fight itself. You still have to work on your self esteem, Torm. Let's move on! Just let me check the Minotaur's map (so kind of them to gift it to us)... ok, it seems that if we go left, we will end up in a pretty nasty ice room with a cracked floor... fighting there will be tricky. On the other hand, if we go right, we'll find a room full of lava... mmm... what do you think, heroes?

Here's your choice for Level 2 of The Dungeon! If you will go left, you will unlock the “Cracked Ice” Dungeon card and the Ice Pad (a hard, irregular plastic surface where you need to make your dice bounce instead of the table, changing the way dice behave after you throw them) for the Castle of Frightening Frosts box. If you go will go right, instead, you will unlock the “Floor Is Lava” Dungeon card and the Lava Pad (similar to the Ice Pad, but with a soft neoprene surface) for the Chambers of Malevolent Magma box.

Welcome to the Dungeon!
over 3 years ago – Wed, Sep 30, 2020 at 01:50:02 AM

Hello Heroes,

welcome to the world of Dungeon Fighter (or welcome back, if you are one of the veteran heroes of the 2011 original version)! Our adventure has just begun, but we’re off to a great start already… as we are already funded! Thanks so much for your enthusiastic support!

If you already joined one of our previous Kickstarter campaigns, you already know that we do not like the “classic” stretch goals tied to the amount of funding collected. This will be the case also for Dungeon Fighter! This campaign will have daily unlocks (at least almost daily, we may take a break or two during weekends), and the stretch goal for each day will be chosen by you! We call this “stretch goal adventure”... well, the Dungeon, of course!

Each day you will find yourselves at a crossroads in the Dungeon, and you will have to choose which way to go, left or right. Depending on your choice, a different stretch goal will be unlocked! But fear not! If your favorite stretch goal will not be chosen by the majority, you will still be able to unlock it as a social stretch goal (we’ll share specific instructions as we go)!

Are you ready to start? Read the story below, choose one of the two options, then submit your votes/comments below this update, NOT on the main campaign page! Votes posted on the main campaign page will be invalid and WON'T BE COUNTED. We repeat: post your votes on THIS UPDATE ONLY!

Welcome to the Dungeon, adventurers! You’ve taken your first step into a larger world. The first thing you should learn is that not all monsters are here to end your lives in a gruesome way… most of them are, but there are exceptions. There are always exceptions. Take that confused Minotaur with a map down there, for example! I’ll show you.

[mumble mumble]

What did I say? He was lost, and he just needed directions! He was very grateful, and he kindly told me what lies ahead. If we go left, we’ll have to face an evil Snow Man, but if we go right, we’ll find ourselves right in front of Mr. Hypnosis. Both won’t be nowhere near as friendly as the minotaur… where do you want to go?

Here's your choice for Level 1 of The Dungeon! If you will go left, you will unlock the “Snow Man” Monster card and the Snow die (a special die made with super-light foam material) for the Castle of Frightening Frosts box. If you go will go right, instead, you will unlock the “Mr. Hypnosis” Monster card and the Pendulum die (a special die that you have to swing instead of a regular throw) for the Catacombs of Gloomy Ghosts box.

Remember, submit your votes/comments on this update, NOT on the main campaign page! Votes posted on the main campaign page will be invalid and WON'T BE COUNTED. We repeat: post your votes on THIS UPDATE ONLY!

Until next time!
